CiteSpace and VOSviewer⁃based analysis of current status and development trends in lung cancer metastasis research in China over past 20 years
To discuss the research progress and current status of lung cancer metastasis in China in recent 20 years, providing insights for future basic and clinical research on lung cancer metastasis.
Methods
2
Literature was retrieved from CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP Databases. The publication period was from January 1, 2003 to June 30, 2023, and the language was limited to Chinese. CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to perform visual analysis on institutions, authors, journals, and keywords, and to draw relevant visual maps to analyze the current status, hotspots, and trends in lung cancer metastasis research.
Results
2
A total of 6,647 Chinese articles conforming to the criteria were retrieved from the aforementioned databases. The peak publication years were 2016 and 2020. The institution with the highest number of publications was Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The author with the highest overall number of publications was Professor Zhou Qinghua, while the author with the most publications in the past three years was Professor Tian Jianhui. The journal with the highest number of publications was the
Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer
. Core hotspot keywords in the field of lung cancer metastasis included lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, brain metastasis, and bone metastasis. In the past three years, the top three keywords with the highest burst strengths were targeted therapy, lung adenocarcinoma, and immunotherapy. Recently emerging hotspot keywords included immunotherapy and radiomics.
Conclusions
2
In the past 20 years, there has been a trend of parallel development in the research of lung cancer metastasis in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine in China. Institutions and experts in the field of traditional Chinese medicine have been particularly prominent. The main research directions have focused on brain and bone metastasis of lung cancer. Future research hotspots may include immunotherapy and radiomics, but research on lung cancer metastasis mechanisms needs further improvement and enhancement.
