Analysis of Li Diangui's clinical thinking on the use of Wangshi Lianpu Yin based on the theory of turbid toxicity
Lianpu Yin, recorded in the ,Treatise on Huoluan, by Wang Mengying - a doctor of the school of warm diseases, is a common formula for the treatment of qi movement disorder, disturbance between the clear and the turbid, and spleen and stomach injuries. In this article, we introduce National Chinese Medical Science Master Prof. Li Diangui's treatment principle developed based on the theory of turbid toxicity, that is, “it is hard to move turbidity without qi transformation, and it is hard to clear heat without removing turbidity”. We also share his experience of simultaneous treatment in clinical diagnosis and treatment of disorders caused by combination of “damp-heat turbid toxicity” and “turbid toxicity of qi”. Meanwhile, we explain the formulation of Lianpu Yin from the perspective of turbid toxicity theory, and appreciate Prof. Li's original intention of using this formula, hoping to provide reference for determination of etiologic factors based on differentiation and herbal prescription and medication in the clinic. Two proven cases are also included.
