This article synthesized the syndrome and treatment methods of limb arthralgia in ,Taiping Holy Prescriptions for Universal Relief,， summarized its etiology， pathogenesis， clinical manifestations and treatment characteristics， and further explored the differentiation and treatment characteristics of limb arthralgia in ,Taiping Holy Prescriptions for Universal Relief. ,The book,provided 6 kinds of limb arthralgia with prescription analysis. The etiology and pathogenesis emphasized both internal deficiency and external infection. Multiple evils invaded together， which were frequently accompanied by dampness evil， and then the theory of visceral weakness was developed. The pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of each limb arthralgia were discussed in detail. Through the examination of the causes， the complicated disease evidence became orderly. The drugs gradually transferred from relieving superficies and dispelling cold to warming inside and dispelling cold， activating blood， invigorating the spleen， tonifying the kidney. As other methods were used together， the application of insect drugs was emphasized.
