Observation on regulating effect of spirit⁃regulating acupuncture on female overactive bladder and accompanying emotional abnormality
Objective,2,To observe the regulating effect of spirit-regulating acupuncture on female overactive bladder (OAB) and accompanying emotional abnormality.,Methods,2,A total of 72 OAB women patients were randomly divided into the spirit-regulating acupuncture group and the routine acupuncture group, with 36 cases in each group. The routine acupuncture group was treated with the bladder-regulating acupuncture, while the spirit-regulating acupuncture group was treated additionally with the spirit-regulating acupuncture besides the bladder-regulating acupuncture. Electroacupuncture therapy was applied to the sacral acupoints (Ciliao and Huiyang) in both groups after the arrival of qi. The treatment course of both grorps was 4 weeks. The score changes of the overactive bladder symptom score (OABSS), Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMD) and Hamilton depression scale (HAMA) were compared between the two groups in the 2nd and 4th week of treatment.,Results,2,①During the trial, all patients in both groups completed the study.②After the treatment, the OABSS decreased in both groups in the 2nd and 4th week of treatment (,P,<,0.05); the OABSS in the spirit-regulating acupuncture group was lower than that in the routine acupuncture group in the 4th week of treatment (,P,<,0.05).③After treatment, the scores of HAMD and HAMA decreased in both groups in the 2nd and 4th week of treatment (,P,<,0.05); the scores of HAMD and HAMA in the spirit-regulating acupuncture group were lower than those in the routine acupuncture group in the 2nd and 4th week of treatment (,P,<,0.05).,Conclusions,2,The spirit-regulating acupuncture is superior to the routine bladder-regulating acupuncture in improving micturition symptoms, anxiety and depression of female OAB patients. The micturition symptoms are correlated with the improvement of anxiety and depression during the acupuncture treatment.
