Research progress on prevention and treatment of hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy by traditional Chinese medicine
The research progress on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in preventing and treating hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) has been reviewed. Studies have found that Astragali Radix, Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma, Gastrodiae Rhizoma etc. have cardiac protective effects and can improve LVH related indicators. Antihypertensive drugs combined with TCM syndrome differentiation can further improve the reversal rate of LVH and its prognosis, and the mechanism is mostly related to the regulation of cytokines, inhibition of Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System, improvement of oxidative stress and inhibition of cell signal transduction pathway.
