Research progress of traditional Chinese medicine treatment of depression in Parkinson’s disease
Depression is one of the most common non-motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. At present, there is no specific treatment available. More attention has been directed to the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) research in this field. In order to provide reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of depression in Parkinson’s disease, we have reviewed the research progress on TCM treatment of depression in Parkinson’s disease in recent years from three aspects: traditional Chinese herbal medicine treatment, integrated Chinese and Western medicine therapy, and TCM non-pharmacological therapy.
