Reconceptualization of annular drainage with electric pyropuncture needle therapy for the treatment of abscesses
Annular drainage with electric pyropuncture needle therapy has been gradually applied in clinical practice. The existing studies suggest that its action mechanism is to promote the formation of “protective field” around the wound, control the spread of infection and promote the healing of the wound through full exposure of the wound and adequate drainage. A large number of modern clinical studies have demonstrated that fire needle has the effects of clearing heat and outthrusting pathogens, warming meridians and dredging collaterals, strengthening the healthy qi and eliminating pathogens. After research, it is believed that annular drainage with electric pyropuncture needle therapy plays an indispensable role in accelerating the healing of wounds because in the treatment of abscesses it can not only provide adequate drainage and establish a protective field, induce heat to expel pathogens, which exist in the deep layer of skin and thick flesh, but also mobilize the body’s healthy qi to resist external pathogens and prevent recurrence.
