Discussion on treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia from spleen
This paper expounded the theoretical basis of treating behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) from spleen, based on the indirect relationship between spleen and BPSD through the brain marrow, the direct relationship between spleen and BPSD, as well as the modern mechanism study. The therapeutic methods of invigorating the spleen and the stomach, invigorating qi and ascending lucid yang, warming and transporting the spleen yang, nourishing the spleen yin, clearing the spleen and eliminating dampness, invigorating the spleen and resolving turbidity, and promoting blood circulation and dredging collaterals were proposed, and two proven cases were presented.
