ZHU Shijie’s experience in treating cough after lung cancer operation
To introduce Professor ZHU Shijie’s experiences in treating cough after lung cancer operation. Professor Zhu believes that cough after lung cancer operation is different from common cough, and traditional cough-relieving medicine has little effect on it. The treatment should be based on the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, combined with the deficiency and excess of the syndrome and the severity of the disease. The pathogenesis of cough after lung cancer operation is deficiency in the root aspect and excess in the branch aspect, with deficiency of qi and yin as the root, blood stasis and toxin blocking collaterals as the branch, and the dysfunction of the lung in dispersion and descent is the root cause of postoperative cough of lung cancer operation. The clinical treatment is mainly based on the method of simultaneous application of purging and nourishing Chinese medicine, focusing on regulating qi activity and regulating the function of the spleen and stomach. Professor ZHU Shijie often uses a large amount of Haifushi (,Pumex,) as the monarch drug, and medication pairs such as Haifushi (,Pumex,) and Xuanfuhua(,Flos Inulae,), Niuxi(,Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae,) and Jugeng(,Radix Platycodi,), Taoren(,Semen Persicae,) and Lugen (,Rhizoma Phragmitis,)and so on. One proven case is presented.
