Clinical observation on Pinggan Huotan Decoction in treating insomnia with hypomnesis of liver depression and phlegm heat syndrome
Objective,2,To observe the clinical effect of Pinggan Huotan Decoction on insomnia with hypomnesia of liver depression and phlegm heat syndrome.,Methods,2,Totally 72 patients with insomnia and hypomnesia of liver depression and phlegm heat syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group (,n,=36) and control group (,n,=36). The control group was administered with Shugan Jieyu Capsule, while the treatment group was administered with Pinggan Huotan Decoction. The course of treatment in both groups was 8 weeks. We observed the clinical efficacy, and compared the changes of TCM syndrome scores, modified Spiegel criteria scores, and P300 latency and amplitude in event-related potential (ERP) detection.,Results,2,①During the clinical trial, there were 3 drop-out cases in the control group and 2 drop-out cases in the treatment group, and 67 cases finally completed the trail, including 33 cases in the control group and 34 cases in the treatment group. ②The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 88.23% and 63.64%, respectively. The clinical effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (,P,<,0.05). ③With the prolongation of treatment time, TCM syndrome scores and modified Spiegel criteria scores of both groups gradually decreased (,P,<,0.001); According to the inter-group comparison after 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks of treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and modified Spiegel criteria scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group (,P,<,0.05). ④According to the intra-group comparison before and after treatment, the latency of P300 became shorter and the amplitude increased in the treatment group after treatment (,P,<,0.05), and the latency of P300 became shorter in the control group after treatment (,P,<,0.05); According to the inter-group comparison after treatment, there were significant differences in latency and amplitude of P300 between the two groups (,P,<,0.05).,Conclusion,2,Pinggan Huotan Decoction is effective in treating insomnia with hypomnesis of liver depression and phlegm heat syndrome as it can significantly improve patients’ symptoms of insomnia, hypomnesis and TCM syndromes.
