National Chinese medicine master Wei Guikang’s experience in treating spine-related diseases with the "spine-Governor Vessel integration theory"
Professor Wei Guikang, a national Chinese medicine master, believes that the spine is closely related to the Governor Vessel(GV), and that the two affect each other in spine-related diseases. Therefore, he refined his academic viewpoint and proposed the "spine-GV integration theory" . Professor Wei explains the clinical application of the "spine-GV integration theory" from four aspects: taking unblocking as the manifestation of normal functions based on the "theory of six unblockings" , the synergistic identification of the spine and GV which focuses on the function of internal organs, softening tendons and setting bones with the priority of softening tendons, the treatment and nourishment integrated method with the major role of external manipulation and supplementary role of internal administration of Chinese medicine. One proven case is presented.
