Discussion on formula syndrome and clinical application of Hou’s Black Powder
To expound thought on Hou’s Black Powder syndrome based on the textual research of literature and clinical experience. It is considered that Hou’s Black Powder is suitable for the patients with the syndrome caused by wind-heat invading the upper due to liver yang hyperactivity, which can be be treated by dispelling wind and pacifying the liver, and replenishing qi and nourishing blood, to make the pathogenic wind subsided, qi and blood abundant, and the disease cured. The formula is indicated for primary or secondary hypertension with such symptoms as dizziness, vertigo, headache, insomnia, aversion to wind-cold in chest and abdomen, heaviness and weakness of limbs, etc. This kind of patients is relatively impatient in temperament. And six proven cases are presented.
