Research advance on chemical constituents, pharmacological action and quality control of Radix Codonopsis
Radix Codonopsis, in the family Campanulaceae, is a kind of tonic Chinese medicine with dual use of medicine and food. It mainly contains alkaloids, alkynes, terpenoids, flavonoids, saccharides and other chemical components, and has pharmacological effects on nervous system, endocrine system, immune system and digestive system. The chemical constituents, pharmacoloaical action, quality control of Codonopsis were summarized in order to provide the basis for the clinical application and daily health products of Codonopsis.
