Different applications of TCM Zheng can be described by thermodynamic state. But in everyday usage of the term “state”, it tends to describe the situation that is associated with long-term or stable changes. Because of the consistence between Zheng and state, the combination of disease and Zheng is developed into the combination of state and disease differentiation with treatment, which highlights the feature that TCM not only attaches importance to disease, but also gives priority to the treatment of state in the contemporary context. It may be an important direction in the future to understand and study TCM Zheng from the point of view of state, especially thermodynamic state.
