The influence of major epidemic diseases on Shen and “four strategies” of regulating Shen——a case study on COVID-19
Due to the outbreak of a major epidemic, individuals are influenced by pestilential qi and emotional internal injuries, resulting in abnormalities of Shen, which are manifested as physical and mental disharmony. There are "four strategies" for regulating Shen, namely, speech (counseling and guidance), emotion (competitiveness and transfer), essence (conversion and tranquility) and physique (qigong and relaxation), which can be selected according to individual’s physical characteristics and the difference in the degree of virus exposure.
