Considerations on diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 with integrated Chinese and western medicine
Several common problems in the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with integrated Chinese and western medicine were discussed based on one case record. It is believed that digestive tract symptoms are also prominent in patients with COVID-19 besides respiratory tract manifestations. Early diagnosis and treatment evaluation include comprehensive analysis of CT examination of the lungs and virus nucleic acid examination. At the middle stage, emphasis is placed on the toxic phlegm and blood stasis, and prevention of liver damage during medication. At the advanced stage the lungs and intestines should be treated simultaneously. During the recovery period it is appropriate to adopt the methods of strengthening the spleen and tonifying the lung, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis.
