Clinical study on five animal exercises combined with calcium in the treatment of primary osteoporosis
Objective:To observe the effect of five animal exercises combined with calcium in the treatment of primary osteoporosis metabolism in osteoporosis patients. MethodsOne hundred patients with osteoporosis were randomly divided into treatment group (n=50) and control group (n=50). The control group was given Caltrate calcium treatment while the treatment group was treated with five animal exercises combined with calcium. The treatment course was 6 months. Serum calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), Bone Gla-protein (BGP), Procollagen I N-Terminal Propeptide (P1NP) levels were measured before and after treatment; changes in the bone mineral density (BMD) of lumbar spine 1-4 (L,1,-L,4,) and femoral neck were recorded and the low back pain score and SPPB were recorded and analyzed before and after treatment. Results:①Serum Ca and P levels in the treatment group increased significantly (P,<,0.05), while BGP and P1NP levels decreased significantly (P,<,0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in Ca, P, BGP and P1NP levels in the control group (P,>,0.05). After treatment, BGP and P1NP levels in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P,<,0.05). ②Intramural comparison before and after treatment showed that BMD levels of lumbar 1-4 (L,1,-L,4,) and femoral neck in the treatment group increased significantly while BMD levels of lumbar 1-4 (L,1,-L,4,) and femoral neck in the control group were not statistically significant (P,>,0.05). After treatment,BMD levels of lumbar 1-4 (L,1,-L,4,) and femoral neck in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P,<,0.05). ③Intra-group comparison before and after treatment showed that the low back pain score in the treatment group reduced significantly (P,<,0.05), while the SPPB score increased significantly (P,<,0.05). There was no statistically significant difference of the low back pain score and SPPB score in the control group (P,>,0.05) before and after treatment. After treatment,the scores of low back pain in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P,<,0.05), and the SPPB scores were significantly higher than those in the control group (P,<,0.05). Conclusion:Five animal exercises can exert a good therapeutic effect on osteoporosis by significantly improving the biochemical index of bone metabolism, increasing BMD, facilitating physical movement and reducing pain in patients with osteoporosis.
