This paper introduces Wang Yiqin’s clinical experience in the treatment of hypertension with Chinese medicine. It is considered that hypertension is not only related to the liver, the spleen and the kidney, but also related to the lung. The treatment should be focused on differentiating pathogenesis, reinforcing the kidney and calming the liver, protecting the function of the spleen and stomach, replenishing qi and promoting drainage of fluid, harmonizing blood and meridians, regulating qi and activating blood circulation. The patients should also pay attention to their living style, exercising their bodies and keeping their minds calm. The commonly used herbs are Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), Shayuanzi(Semen Astragali Complanati), Baijili (Fructus Tribuli), Niuxi(Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae), Sanqi(Radix Notoginseng), Danshen (Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae), etc. And one proven case is presented.
