This paper discussions Huang Liquan’s ideas of the differentiation and treatment as well as his characteristics of medication through three proven cases treated by Huang Liquan. For the cases with exogenous wind-warm influencing liver yang, the treatment should be focused on dredging collaterals and regulating the liver, clearing away heat and resolving phlegm, and the herbs with greasy nature and pungent taste should be less used; for the cases with damp-warmth, the treatment should be concentrated on diathermia with herbs of bland taste; for the cases with pathogenic wind invading upward, the treatment should be considered of suppressing yang with heavy herbs.
