This paper reviews the research progress on procyanidin in cinnamon, including extraction and isolation, structure identification, content determination and bioactivity. Studies have revealed that procyanidin in cinnamon shows multi pharmacological activities, such as anti-oxidation, anti-angiogenesis, hypoglycemic effect, anti-inflammation, immune regulation and anti-cancer.
