This paper discusses Professor Zheng Pingdong’s clinical experience in treating nephrotic syndrome. It is considered that the therapy of this disease should be focused on treating lung and eliminating pathogenic factors in the early stage and regulating and tonifying spleen and kidney in the later period. Taken the zang-fu viscera as the outline,the treatment reactions of lung,spleen and kidney are quick,slow and delayed respectively. The treatment should be relieving swelling first and taking excess elimination as core,which is guided in the light of its general trend. The location of water retention and the channel tropism of medicines are emphasized. After edema is recovered,invigorating spleen and tonifying kidney should be strengthened. For the side effects caused by hormone,therapies of regulating kidney qi,regulating qi and blood and clearing toxic heat are applied. One proven case is presented.
