This paper introduces the ten methods of Cui Yuheng,a national famous veteran doctors of traditional Chinese medicine,in treating cough. It is considered that the etiology and pathogenesis of cough are complex. It is necessary to make the detail differentiation between external and internal factors,cold and heat,deficiency and excess,and then different treatment methods are performed. The commonly used methods in clinic include therapy of dispelling cold and resolving fluid retention,therapy of clearing heat and eliminating phlegm,therapy of dispelling wind for desensitization,therapy of alleviating arthralgia and relieving cough,therapy of relieving Shaoyang disorder and clearing heat,therapy of replenishing lung and benifiting qi,therapy of invigorating spleen and eliminating phlegm,therapy of tonifying kidney and relieving cough,therapy of nourishing lung and kidney and therapy of resolving food stagnation. One proven case is presented.
