Experience in treating intractable hiccup with modified Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction
Combined with two proven cases, this paper discusses the features of Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction in the treatment of intractable hiccup. It is considered that the indications include stomach injury due to pathogen eliminating, internal stagnation of phlegm fluid, stomach failing to descending qi. It shows good efficacy in the treatment of intractable hiccup with syndrome of intermingled deficiency and excess. The key of prescription efficacy is the balance of relationship among descending adverse qi,resolving phlegm fluid and tonifying deficiency.
