This paper discusses the development of Shanghan Lun(Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases) from classical paradigm into common methods that can deal with the whole fever diseases. The basic clinical problems that involved in Shanghan Lun,such as identification and diagnosis,syndrome differentiation rules,compatibility and incompatibility of treatment methods,treatment for accompanied symptoms and regulation after recovery,form a certain pattern and system and can be considered as the classic paradigm. In the long clinical practice,Yu Genchu in Qing Dynasty writes Tongsu Shanghan Lun,which develops Shanghan Lun from classic into common based on the view of clinical therapy. In this book,the structure is unchanged but the outline is clearer,the concepts are constant but the views are more profound,the disease syndromes are unchanged but the contents are obviously expanded,the treatment methods are the same but the prescriptions are innovative. This is Yu Genchu's best interpretation for classical Shanghan Lun from clinical view.
