This paper discusses the relationship between stagnation of collaterals due to yang deficiency and gouty. It is considered that stagnation of meridian and collaterals due to yang deficiency is one of the most important pathogenesis of gouty. Yang deficiency failing to warm causes cold-dampness accumulating in the interior,yang deficiency failing to warm leads to intermingled phlegm and blood stasis,yang deficiency induces dampness and blood stasis,which easily transforms into heat when long stagnated. For gouty due to yang deficiency,the root cause of the disease is yang deficiency of spleen and kidney,and the excess in superficiality is dampness,phlegm and blood stasis obstructing meridians and collaterals. The treatments should take therapy of warming yang and dredging collaterals as principle. One proven case is presented.
