Cao Shili’s clinical experience in treating osteodynia of diabetic nephropathy
This paper introduces Professor Cao Shili’s clinical experience in treating osteodynia of diabetic nephropathy with traditional Chinese medicine. At the beginning,the pathogenesis of the disease is dryness-heat due to yin deficiency which consumes qi and damages yin. As the disease progression,yin deficiency involves yang which leads to both deficiency of spleen and kidney. Until the advanced stage,it presents both deficiency of yin and yang,stasis and stagnation of vessels and meridians. The property of this disease is mainly deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality. The treatment methods include tonifying therapy that warming yang or nourishing yin to eliminating stagnation,therapy of promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis by worm medicine,therapy of removing obstruction in collaterals according to symptoms,therapy of reinforcement and elimination in combination,and Niuxi(Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix)is made good use. One proven case is presented.
