Objective:To discuss the relationship between local syndrome factors of knee joints and tongue parameters in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods The local Chinese medical symptoms of knee joints in 110 patients with knee osteoarthritis were investigated through cross-sectional study. The local syndrome factors were summarized through clustering analysis,and the tongue nature and tongue coating parameters were collected through tongue module in tongue and pulse information collection and constitution identification system,and then the relationship between local syndrome factors of knee joints and tongue parameters was discussed.  Results:①According to the clustering analysis,the local syndrome factors of knee joints could be divided into the wind pattern,cold pattern and dampness pattern. ②There were statistically significant differences on the L value in the tip and root of tongue and the b value in the root of tongue between the cold-dampness group and the normal group without wind,cold and dampness (P<0.05). There was statistically significant difference on the b value in the middle of tongue coat and root of tongue between the cold-dampness group and the normal group without wind,cold and dampness (P<0.05). The results indicated that for the patients of knee osteoarthritis with cold-dampness patterns,the tongue color in the tip and root of tongue was lighter and brighter,and the color in the middle and root of tongue coating was heavier,with a certain tendency of heat-transmission.  Conclusion:There is a strong correlation between the local syndrome factors of knee joints and the overall tongue parameters,especially the parameters in the middle and root of tongue,which can provide certain objective basis for the clinical differentiation and treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
