Preliminary observation on clinical efficacy of Feng’s fascia point on relieving hand spasm after stroke
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at Feng’s fascia point on relieving hand spasm after stroke. Methods16 patients with hand spasm after stroke were treated with acupuncture at Feng’s fascia point, with a course of 4 weeks. The changes on the modified Ashworth scale score were observed before the treatment, after the first treatment and at the end of treatment. Results:Compared with treatment before, the modified Ashworth scale score of patients was decreased after the first treatment and at the end of treatment (P<0.05). And the modified Ashworth scale score at the end of treatment was significantly lower than that after the first treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture at Feng’s fascia point can effectively and immediately relieve the hand spasm after stroke, and the effects are more obvious as the increasing intervention time.
