Effects of Haikun Shenxi Capsule on oxidative stress in chronic renal failure patients
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Haikun Shenxi Capsule in the treatment of chronic renal failure and its effects on oxidative stress state. Methods90 patients with chronic renal failure were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine therapy of western medicine, and the treatment group was treated with Haikun Shenxi Capsule based on the treatment for the control group, with a course of one month. The clinical efficacy was observed, and the oxidative stress related indexes were compared, including superoxide dismutase (SOD),advanced glycation end products (AGEs),malondialdehyde (MDA) and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP). Results:①The clinical total effective rates were 86.7% in the treatment group and 68.9% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group (P<0.05). ②For the comparison between treatment before and after, there were statistically significant differences on the levels of SOD,AGEs,MDA and AOPP in both groups (P<0.05). After treatment, there were statistically significant differences on the levels of SOD,AGEs,MDA and AOPP between the two groups, the improvement in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Haikun Shenxi Capsule can effectively improve the renal function of patients with chronic renal failure, and its mechanism may be related to the improvement on the state of oxidative stress.
