Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Huoxue Bushen Mixture in the treatment of androgenic alopecia with syndrome of yin deficiency of liver and kidney,and study the effects of Huoxue Bushen Mixture on serum trace elements (Cu, Fe, Zn) in female patients with hair loss. Methods80 female patients of androgenic alopecia with syndrome of yin deficiency of liver and kidney were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,40 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Huoxue Bushen Mixture, and the control group was treated with Huolisu Oral Liquid,with a course of 3 months. The clinical efficacy was observed,and the changes on the serum levels of trace elements (Cu, Fe, Zn) were compared.  Results:①Finally 76 cases completed the trial,38 cases in each group. ②The total effective rates were 81.6% in the treatment group and 68.4% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05). ③The improvement on hair loss and Chinese medical syndromes(soreness and weakness of waist and knees,insomnia due to vexation,irregular menstruation) in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). ④Compared with treatment before,the serum levels of Fe and Zn in both groups were increased after treatment(P<0.05),and the serum Fe level of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).  Conclusion:HuoXue Bushen Mixture can effectively reduce the hair loss in female patients of androgenic alopecia with syndrome of yin deficiency of liver and kidney,improve the Chinese medical syndromes and regulate the serum levels of trace elements
