This paper introduces Professor Jiang Zhiyan’s clinical experience in the treatment of adenoidal hypertrophy in children. It is considered that the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease are invasion of pathogenic toxin,lung-heat stagnated in nose,accumulation of phlegm dampness,phlegm obstruction due to spleen deficiency. The treatment is based on dissipating phlegm and resolving masses. When the disease presents acute onset and lung-heat stagnated in nose,therapy of clearing lung-heat for eliminating phlegm should be applied. When the disease presents chronic progress and phlegm obstruction due to spleen deficiency,it should strength the therapy of activating spleen-energy and opening orifice,with combination of oral administration of Chinese medicine and acupoint massage. Two proven cases are presented.
