Evaluation on clinical efficacy of TCM constitution intervention program for bronchial asthma in remission stage
Objective:To observe the effects of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution intervention on patients with bronchial asthma in remission stage. Methods80 patients with bronchial asthma in remission stage were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupoint plastering therapy of compound recipe “Fujiutian”. Based on the treatment for the control group, the treatment group was additionally treated with Chinese medicine decoction according to constitution. The treatment course of both groups was one year with one-year follow-up. The changes on the clinical efficacy, asthma control test scale(ACT)score, serum immunoglobulin E(IgE)level, frequency of asthma attack within one year were observed. Results:The clinical total effective rates were 95.0% in the treatment group and 80.0% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the ACT score was obviously increased in both groups(P<0.05),and the IgE level was obviously decreased(P<0.05)and the frequency of asthma attack within one year was obviously reduced(P<0.05). After treatment, there were statistically significant differences on all indexes between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion:The intervention program of acupoint plastering therapy of compound recipe “Fujiutian” combined with TCM constitution can obviously improve the clinical symptoms in patients with bronchial asthma in remission stage, enhance the quality of life and reduce the frequency of asthma attack.
