This paper summarizes Gong Yuping’s experience in the treatment of ulcerative colitis and the medication characteristics. She considers that the pathogenesis are deficiency of spleen and stomach as the root cause and dampness,heat and pathogenic toxin as the manifestations,which combined with static blood blocking collaterals throughout. So the basic therapies are invigorating spleen and clearing intestine and promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis. Jianpi Qingchang Recipe can be used in the treatment,and the internal and external treatment can be applied in combination. One proven case is presented.
