Clinical observation of comprehensive non-drug interventions of traditional Chinese medicine in community pre-diabetes population
Objective:To observe the influence of comprehensive non-drug interventions of traditional Chinese medicine in community pre-diabetes population. Methods120 pre-diabetic patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,60 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with comprehensive non-drug interventions of traditional Chinese medicine(Chinese medical kinesiotherapy and auricular point pressing)combined with health education and management, and the control group was treated with conventional interventions(health education and management),with a course of one year. The changes on the glucose tolerance outcomes, related indicators of glucose metabolism and cardiovascular risk factors(carotid intima-media thickness, serum creatinine and urinary microalbumin excretion rate)were observed and compared. Results:①During the treatment, the incidence rates of diabetes were 0.0% in the treatment group and 5.0% in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The normalization rates of glucose tolerance were 48.3% in the treatment group and 11.7% in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). ②After treatment, there were statistically significant differences on the levels of fasting blood glucose, postprandial 2 h blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin between the two groups, and the levels in the treatment group were obviously lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). ③After treatment, there were statistically significant differences on the levels of carotid intima-media thickness, serum creatinine and urinary microalbumin excretion rate between the two groups, and the improvement in the treatment group were obviously better than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The comprehensive non-drug interventions of traditional Chinese medicine combined with health education and management can obviously improve the levels of glucose metabolism in community pre-diabetic patients, decrease the cardiovascular risk factors, and thus reduce the incidence rate of diabetes to a certain extent.
