Relationships between inflammatory factors and constitution of Chinese medicine or syndrome differentiation and classification in community patients with mild cognitive impairment
Objective:To discuss the relationships between serum inflammatory factors and constitution of Chinese medicine or syndrome differentiation and classification in community patients with mild cognitive impairment. Methods118 community patients with mild cognitive impairment were included. The constitutional types of Chinese medicine were differentiated according to the relevant standards in Classification and Judgement of Constitutions of Chinese Medicine, and syndrome differentiation and pattern classification of Chinese medicine were preformed based on the relevant standards in Guidelines for Clinical Research of Chinese Medicine New Drugs. The levels of inflammatory factors IL-1β and IL-6 were detected by ELISA. The differences on the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 between different constitutional type and syndrome patterns were compared. Results:①In 118 community patients with mild cognitive impairment, there were 65 cases in normal constitution(accounted for 55.1%),25 cases in yang deficiency constitution(accounted for 21.2%)and 28 cases in other biased constitutions(accounted for 23.7%). ②In 118 community patients with mild cognitive impairment, there were 49 cases with syndrome of deficiency of spleen and kidney(accounted for 41.5%),18 cases with syndrome of hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency(accounted for 15.3%),17 cases with syndrome of deficiency of qi and blood(accounted for 14.4%)and 34 cases with other syndrome patterns(accounted for 28.8%). ③There were statistically significant differences on the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 between normal constitution group and other constitutions group(P<0.05,P<0.01). There were statistically significant differences on the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 between patients with syndrome of deficiency of spleen and kidney and patients with other syndrome patterns(P<0.05). Conclusion:In community patients with mild cognitive impairment, the most common constitutional type of Chinese medicine is normal constitution and the syndrome of deficiency of spleen and kidney is the main pattern in syndrome differentiation of Chinese medicine. The levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in patients with normal constitution are higher than those in patients with other constitutions, and the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in patients with syndrome of deficiency of spleen and kidney are lower than those in patients with other syndrome patterns.
