Clinical comparative observation of different acupuncture-moxibustion therapies in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis at acute stage
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of warm needling, electroacupuncture and quick cupping in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis at acute stage. Methods112 patients with peripheral facial paralysis at acute stage were randomly divided into the control group, warm needling group, electroacupuncture group and quick cupping group,28 cases in each group. The control group was treated with single therapy of western medicine, the warm needling group was treated with facial warming acupuncture on affected side, the electroacupuncture group was treated with electroacupuncture therapy, and the quick cupping group was treated with quick cupping stimulation after acupuncture, with a course of 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy,House-Brackmann(H-B)facial nerve grading scale and healing time in each group were compared. Results:①The total effective rates were 96.4% in the warm needling group,85.7% in the electroacupuncture group,85.7% in the quick cupping group and 75.0% in the control group. The total effective rate of the control group was lower than that of the other groups(P<0.05).The efficacy of the warm needling group was better than that of the electroacupuncture group and quick cupping group(P<0.05). ②Compared with treatment before, the H-B facial nerve grading were obviously improved in all the groups after treatment(P<0.01).After treatment, the H-B facial nerve grading in the three groups that treated with acupuncture-moxibustion therapies were better than those in the control group(P<0.01),and the H-B facial nerve grading in the warm needling group were better than those in the electroacupuncture group and quick cupping group(P<0.05). ③The healing time in the three groups that treated with acupuncture-moxibustion therapies was all less than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the healing time in the warm needling group was less than that in the electroacupuncture group and quick cupping group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture-moxibustion therapies show significant efficacy in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis at acute stage. Among, the therapy of warm needling shows obvious advantages in recovering facial nerve function and healing time.
