Xu Xiaopu,representative of Xu’s pediatrics,inherited Zhang Zhongjing’s academic theory of warming and nourishing yang,and was well versed the academic thoughts and medical classics of pediatricians since the Northern Song Dynasty,such as Qian Yi,Chen Wenzhong,Wan Quan and so on. He got inspiration from Zhu Weiju’s therapy of warming yang for strengthening vital qi in treating recurring illness,learned the experience without being rigidly adhered to the methods,and created pediatric unique therapy of warming yang,including therapy of relieving superficies syndrome with pungent and warm natured drugs,therapy of warming lung for resolving fluid retention and therapy of warming yang for strengthening vital qi. He emphasized the importance of yang qi in human body,and made good use of Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata to treat chronic diseases in children.
