Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of comprehensive therapy of Chinese medicine in the treatment of senile sensorineural hearing loss. Methods Based on the randomized controlled trial,84 patients with senile sensorineural hearing loss were divided into the treatment group and control group, 42 cases in each group. The control group was orally treated with mecobalamin tablet,the treatment group was treated with comprehensive therapy of Chinese medicine including acupuncture,acupoint injection and ear acupoint plastering,with a course of 34 days. The clinical efficacy and medication safety were observed,the change of the mean of pure tone hearing threshold was compared,and the relationship between duration and efficacy was observed.  Results: ①Finally 80 cases completed the trial,40 cases in each group. ②For the comparison between treatment before and after,there was statistically significant difference on the mean of pure tone hearing threshold in both groups(P<0.05).For the comparison of the difference of treatment before and after,there was statistically significant difference on the difference of the mean of pure tone hearing threshold between the two groups,and the improvement on the mean of pure tone hearing threshold in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). ③The clinical total effective rate was 82.50% in the treatment group and 62.50% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05). ④In the treatment group or control group respectively,the clinical efficacy on the patients with duration less than 3 years was significantly better than that on the patients with duration more than or equal to 3 years(P<0.05). For the patients with duration less than 3 years,the clinical total effective rate was 88.24% in the treatment group and 84.21% in the control group,and there was no statistically significant difference on the clinical efficacy between the two groups(P>0.05). For the patients with duration more than or equal to 3 years,the clinical total effective rate was 78.26% in the treatment group and 42.86% in the control group,and there was statistically significant difference on the clinical efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05). ⑤There was no statistically significant difference on the incidence of adverse reaction between the two groups(P>0.05).  Conclusion: The comprehensive therapy of Chinese medicine shows good efficacy in the treatment of senile sensorineural hearing loss,which can significantly improve the hearing level of patients.
