Clinical study of warming needle acupuncture on Jiaji acpoint combined with Shi’s twelve-word health maintenance exercise in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of warming needle acupuncture on Jiaji acpoint(Ex-B2)combined with Shi’s twelve-word health maintenance exercise in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods90 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,45 cases in each group. The control group was orally treated with Jingtongling capsule, and the treatment group was treated with warming needle acupuncture on Jiaji acpoint combined with Shi’s twelve-word health maintenance exercise. The treatment course in both groups was 70 days with follow-up for 6 months. The clinical efficacy and the recurrence during follow-up were observed, and the changes of visual analog scales(VAS) score on cervical pain and neck disability index(NDI)were compared. Results:①The clinical total effective rate was 95.56% in the treatment group and 75.56% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05). ②For the comparison of the difference of treatment before and after, there was statistically significant difference on the VAS score difference between the two groups, and the improvement on VAS score in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). ③For the comparison of the difference of treatment before and after, there was statistically significant difference on the NDI difference between the two groups, and the improvement on NDI in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). ④For the comparison of the recurrence during follow-up,the recurrence rate of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The warming needle acupuncture on Jiaji acpoint combined with Shi’s twelve-word health maintenance exercise can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients, restore the normal function of cervical vertebra.
