Clinical observation of acupoint massage with plant essential oil in the treatment of chronic prostatitis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint massage with plant essential oil in the treatment of chronic prostatitis. Methods70 patients with chronic prostatitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,35 cases in each group. Based on the oral medication of modified Sanren Decoction, the treatment group was treated with acupoint massage with plant essential oil and the control group was treated with acupoint massage with apricot kernel oil as placebo in addition, with a course of one month. The clinical efficacy was observed, and the changes of total score of chronic prostatitis symptom index (NIH-CPSI) and white blood cell count in prostatic fluid were compared. Results:①The clinical total effective rate was 53.13% in the treatment group and 23.53% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).②After treatment, the total score of NIH-CPSI in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).③After treatment, there was no statistically significant difference on the grade of white blood cell count in prostatic fluid between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion:Acupoint massage with plant essential oil combined with Chinese medicine shows good efficacy in the treatment of chronic prostatitis, which can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients and is safe and feasible.
