Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Shi’s Tanyu Tongluo Decoction in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR). MethodsOne hundred and twenty patients with CSR were randomly divided into the control group and treatment group,60 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets, while the others in the treatment group were treated with Shi’s Tanyu Tongluo Decoction, with a course of 28 days. The clinical efficacy was observed, and the symptoms and signs score of cervical spondylosis and visual analogue scale(VAS)score for pain were compared. Results: ①Finally 114 cases completed the clinical research, among which 59 cases in the treatment group and 55 cases in the control group. ②The total effective rates of the treatment group and control group were 91.53% and 72.73% respectively;there was statistically significant difference on the clinical efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05).③For the comparison between the treatment before and after, the differences on the symptoms and signs score of cervical spondylosis were statistically significant in both groups(P<0.01);for the comparison after treatment, there were statistically significant differences on the symptoms and signs score of cervical spondylosis between the two groups(P<0.01).④For the comparison between the treatment before and after, the differences on the VAS score were statistically significant in both groups(P<0.01);for the comparison between the two groups after treatment for one week, the difference on VAS score was not statistically significant(P>0.05);but there were statistically significant differences on the VAS score between the two groups after treatment for two, three and four weeks(P<0.01). Conclusion: Shi’s Tanyu Tongluo Decoction can be used in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, which obviously relieve the pain and improve the clinical symptoms in patients.
