This paper introduced Cao Yemin’s clinical experience in treating thromboangiitis obliterans. He considers yang-deficiency in constitution and exogenous pathogenic factors invasion as the basic pathogenesis of this disease,and points out that the method of strengthening yang and consolidating body resistance should be applied throughout the treatment. He emphasizes syndrome differentiation and treatment by stages,which means eliminating pathogenic factors first in acute stage and combination of clearing and supplementing in stable stage. Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction is usually taken as the basic prescription in clinic and modified according to symptoms. One proven case was presented.
