Relationship between the intermuscular adipose tissue and insulin resistance from the theory of “spleen governs the muscle”
Intermuscular adipose tissue(IMAT)is considered as an important factor that influence the insulin sensitivity of skeletal muscle. The paper analyzed the source and regulation factors of IMAT and its influence on insulin sensitivity, and explained the possible relationship between IMAT and insulin resistance from the TCM theory of “ spleen governs the muscle”.
