The paper introduced the clinical experience of Professor Chen Jianjie in the treatment of liver cirrhosis with high alpha fetal protein. In the pathogenesis, Professor Chen proposed most liver cirrhosis patients with high alpha fetal protein were with the syndrome of damp-heat combined with toxin stasis, blood stasis blocking collaterals,liver stagnation and spleen deficiency. In the treatment the methods of invigorating spleen and eliminating dampness, clearing heat and toxin and resolving hard lump were advocated. Ershu Jiedu Decoction was formulated and good clinical efficacy was achieved. One proven case was provided.
