Clinical study on chronic daily headache of up-rising phlegm-turbidity treated by Qin’s Eight Acupoints with syndrome-differentiated acupoints
Objective:To observe the clinical effects of Qin’s Eight Acupoints with syndrome-differentiated acupoints in the treatment of up-rising phlegm-turbidity chronic daily headache. MethodsSixty-three subjects were randomized into observation group(n=32) and control group(n=31), and were treated by Qin’s Eight Acupoints; meanwhile, the observation group was treated by acupoints Zusanli(ST 36), Sanyinjiao(SP 6) and Fenglong(ST 40), and the control group was treated by sham acupoints lateral to above ones, with a course of 8 weeks. The headache dairy including attack frequency, visual analogue scale(VAS), lasting duration, syndrome score, migraine disability assessment(MIDAS) and SF-36 scale were assessed before and after treatment. Results:①After treatment, the headache attack frequency, visual analogue scale(VAS) and lasting duration were obviously reduced in both groups(P<0.05,P<0.01), with lower VAS score in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05). ②After treatment, the syndrome scores were strikingly decreased in both groups(P<0.01), with no significance between the two groups(P>0.05). ③After treatment, the MIDAS scores were obviously reduced in both groups(P<0.01), with no significance between the two groups(P>0.05). ④After treatment, the PCS and MCS scores were increased in both groups(P<0.01), with more significant increase in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.01). Conclusion:Qin’s Eight Acupoints with syndrome-differentiated acupoints is effective to help chronic daily headache and improve the quality of life.
