By careful organization and summarization of brain theory and brain disorders in Huangdi’s Internal Classic, this paper studies the brain’s ownership, shape, generation and function to reduce the brain in traditional Chinese medicine. It is thought that the brain disorders are usually caused by brain deficiency and pathogenic invasion, and its treatment concenrates on nourishing the kidneys. Central nervous disease, encephalopathy in modern medicine, differs from brain disorders in Chinese medicine and should be treated from the heart, liver and kidney.
