Elucidation on Complicated Symptoms was a clinical book written in the Ming Dynasty. This paper introduces the book from the author’s life, version, main contents and academic characteristics. The contents of this book were modified and improved through later generations. This book detailed the etiology and pathogenesis, pulse, syndrome differentiation and herbal treatment from “stroke” to “chills”, among which the treatment of abdominal masses was unique and helped clinical treatment.
