Effects of “Qianzheng San” with warm acupuncture at Zusanli on endothelial progenitor cells from peripheral blood in patients with acute idiopathic facial palsy
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy on patient with acute facial paralysis with “Qianzheng San” (QZS) and warm acupuncture at Zusanli(ST36). MethodsSixty cases with acute idiopathic facial palsy were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The control group treated with normal western medicine and the treatment group was treated with QZS and warm acupuncture of Zusanli on the basis of normal treatment. The treatment was 14d for both groups, and the number of EPCs from peripheral blood and number of proliferative colonies of EPCs were measured and comparison was made between two groups. Results: ①The marked effective rate was 86.67% for treatment group and 60.00% for control group, and the difference was significant (P<0.05).② Compared in each group before and after treatment, the number of EPCs and the number of proliferative colonies of EPCs of two groups both were increased, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared between groups after treatment, there was significant difference in the number of EPCs and the number of proliferative colonies of EPCs (P<0.05). Conclusion: There was significant curative effect on patient with acute facial paralysis with QZS and Warm Acupuncture Zusanli, and the mechanism may be related to promote vascular endothelial injury repair.
