Chemical composition of Syringa wolfii C. K. Schneid’s branches
Objective:To investigate the chemical compounds from the branch of Syringa wolfii C. K. Schneid. MethodsThe branch was subjected to the system solvent, and the obtained extracts were separated by column chromatography and thin layer chromatography. The volatile oil was extracted by water-steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS. Results: Six chemical compounds were identified, which included dimethyl terephthalate (1), 3-hydroxy-Ursane- 12-ene (2), ursolicacid (3), 4- (2-hydroxyethyl)-phe-nol (4), D-mannitol (5) and syringin (6). 69 compounds were identified in essential oils, accounting for 99.86% of the total essential oil and 2-methyl-5- (1-methyl ethyl)-1-cyclopentene alcohol (14.16%) was with the high content among them. Conclusion:Compound 3,5 and 6 were obtained for the first time from the plant. Compound 1,2 and 4 were obtained in Syringa for the first time. Because the contents of 2 and 4 were fairly high, which will provide protophase theoretical reference for the gathering of the two compounds from Syringa wolfii C. K. Schneid. Except for the alkanes, the most compounds were terpene. The analysis of the results show that sesquiterpenes was accounted for the largest portion in the alkene and the oxide compounds.
