Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of “Shenque” acupoint external application with “Xiaozhong Powder” in treatment of liver cirrhosis ascites. Methods60 cases of patients with liver cirrhosis ascites were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,while the treatment group was treated with “Shenque” acupoint external application with “Xiaozhong Powder” based on the treatment of control group. Two groups were treated for 14 days. The changes of abdominal water scale dividing,abdominal distension VAS score,liver function were compared.  Results:①Compared before and after the treatment,the difference of abdominal water scale dividing of two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)；after the treatment,the difference of abdominal water scale dividing between two groups was significant(P<0.05), and the treatment was better than the control group. ②Compared before and after the treatment,the difference of abdominal distension VAS score of two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)；after the treatment,the difference of abdominal distension VAS score between two groups was significant(P<0.05). ③Compared before and after the treatment,the difference of liver function of two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)；after the treatment,there was no significant difference of liver function between two groups(P>0.05).  Conclusion:The effect of “Shenque” acupoint external application with “Xiaozhong Powder” in treatment of liver cirrhosis ascites was satisfying；it can reduce abdominal water scale significantly.
